Drawing Exercises For The Uninspired

I originally wanted to do this series on drawing exercises because I was uninspired and fed up and struggling to draw. There were hissy fits and temper tantrums happening. I threw all my toys out the pram and then had a hissy fit about that too, just to remind you I am 26, not six.

I then started staring at bodies and thinking and drawing again, and then regularly as part of The 100 Day Project. I rekindled a fire somewhere inside of me.

There's some drawing exercises I come back to again and again, because I like the results and I love the process, and I'm going to share them with you, because why not? It's an art blog, lets talk art (and life drawing apparently).

Part One

Drawing with a stick.

Get a (long ish) stick, attach a pen, or pencil or paintbrush to that stick. Draw. Draw for five minutes, draw for half an hour. Just make an image on that paper. Stand back and admire your expressive handiwork.

It's fabulous.

I haven't posted the video here, as I can't get the formatting right (bugger), there's been no processing because I am lazy and have no video editing software currently; to watch the video, click here.
